FSSAI:
Food Safety Standards Authority of India's main function is to ensure the quality of the food products and certify them.
FSSAI also sets the manufacturing, packaging standards and provides the certificate with a unique code number for food-related businesses.
BIS:
Bureau of Indian Standards which is the national body of India working under the ministry of consumer affairs, food and public distribution, Government of India.
The key role of BIS is responsible for the development of the activities of standardisation, making and quality certification of goods and commodities including food products.
Standard Fact:
For safety compliance and food testing, the FSSAI has doubled the labs in past three years. Now there are more than 219 food testing labs in India.
